Aditi has gotten into the phase of 'I want to become _____ when I grow up'.
A few weeks back she wanted to become a nurse and over the last few days she has been saying that she wants to become a teacher. It would be interesting to note how this opinion would change as she keeps growing up!
Aditi has started a lot more questions these days and her questions are getting more complex. The question yesterday was 'Why is it cold in December?' and 'Why does it snow during Christmas?"
I have been struggling with how to answer such questions. Do I give out a simplistic answer or give her the whole nine yards? A simplistic answer(December is cold. It is always like that!) would trivialize things and she might not get herself to question enough and the complete factual answer(december is cold because the earth rotates around the sun and is an inclination of 22.5 deg and this causes the seasons!!) might just bore her as she would not be able to grasp (relate) the answer.
What is right? Whatever works??
